RMJM is seeking to appoint a Accounting Assistant to support the continued growth of our Dubai Studio.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:
- Direct reporting and close collaboration with the Finance/Accounting Manager.
- Issue invoices to customers and external partners, as needed.
- Reconcile AR and AP invoices and identify discrepancies.
- Liaise with vendors regarding billing and payments.
- Create and update expense reports.
- Review and verify expense claim submission.
- Consolidate monthly bank statements.
- Enter financial transactions into internal databases.
- Check spreadsheets for accuracy.
- Maintain digital and physical financial records (Petty Cash).
- Familiarity with the U.A.E Labor Law.
- Maintain the prepayment and fixed asset schedule.
- Review and file payroll documents.
- Assist with month-end closing.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and accurate tax filings on a quarterly basis.
- Participate in quarterly and annual audits.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures.
- Familiarity with finance regulations.
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors.
- Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks/ Zoho Books)
- Demonstrates Organization skills.
- Strong interpersonal and good communication skills.
- Proofreading and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving.
- Capable of handling sensitive and confidential information.
- BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
