Resident Engineer (Marine Works)

We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer (Marine Works) to join our team and play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing complex field engineering assignments related to marine construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the development, execution, supervision, and coordination of all technical aspects of our marine construction projects.

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Manage and coordinate project stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of marine construction projects.
  • Initiate and manage building services designs within budget constraints.
  • Apply quality management principles and processes to maintain high standards of work.
  • Utilize risk assessment and management principles to ensure project success.
  • Maintain first-level quality assurance to confirm that all work within your discipline complies with plans, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Supervise construction engineering work and provide technical expertise for one or more construction engineering disciplines.
  • Supervise Construction Inspectors, ensuring tests and inspections are performed in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Monitor and coordinate all contractors’ activities within your assigned area.
  • Collaborate with construction management to eliminate hazards that may affect the environment or employee safety.
  • Establish and maintain communication with the discipline design engineering staff.
  • Review and interpret discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure correct technical execution.
  • Provide solutions for technical engineering problems within your discipline(s).
  • Develop discipline construction schedules and monitor progress, reporting to the Construction Manager.
  • Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness and quality.
  • Organize the accumulation of discipline data for project turnover and reporting.
  • Initiate and maintain records, back-charge procedures, progress reports, and more as required.
  • Interface with the client and upper-level management.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Marine Engineering or a construction-related field from a reputable university.
  • A minimum of 15 years of construction supervision experience in marine construction, such as ports and jetties.
  • Preferred experience in the construction of large marine projects in the UAE.
