RMJM has forayed into North America sporadically throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. In the 70s and 80s, RMJM engaged in hospital projects in Trinidad, Belize and St Vincent & Anguilla, and also designed its first parliament building in the Caribbean (the second was designed in Scotland some years later).
The variety of RMJM projects in the USA is extensive, from universities and schools to airports and power generators. Some of the more distinctive projects include the Central Park North Residences, JFK International Airport Cogeneration Plant, “A” Jersey City, Malvern Conference & Training Centre, university projects for Duke University (NC) New Jersey Medical School (NJ), Cornell University (NY) and the Becton Dickinson campus in New Jersey, which won an American Institute of Architects Chapter Award and an American Architecture Award.
