RMJM Osmani is one of the first globally sustainable architectural firms in Pakistan and is a leading design studio in Karachi.
In 1960 RMJM began its first project in Pakistan, when a team of its architects were invited to work on an urban masterplan alongside Pakistan engineering company Osmani as well as Greek firm Doxiadis and Harvard University. The masterplan laid the groundwork for Islamabad, which was to become the country’s capital city. The project encouraged a close relationship between the Government of Pakistan, RMJM and Osmani. This eventually led RMJM to formally enter a partnership with Osmani in 2010. 50 years after working on the Islamabad masterplan, RMJM Osmani were thrust back in the limelight when appointed by the Pakistan Defence Housing Authority to develop the masterplan for DHA City Karachi, which was the first planned, green, sustainable and smart city in Pakistan.
The studio’s offices can be found in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Multan and Faisalabad and are headed up by Atif Osmani, who has been part of the Osmani team since 1988.
Today, RMJM Osmani pride themselves on being the first Global Sustainable Architectural Studio in Pakistan.
