The design of this competition masterplan carves an impressive nautilus shape atoll, creating a semi-open lake to represent and promote Zhuhai internationally. Entertainment, F&B, residential and hotel accommodation along the new waterfront provide an exciting backdrop for the Opera House, which is proposed as a new cultural focus.
The design also aims to provide an unobstructed view to the residential area in the north. A retail spine and pier extend pedestrian flow from Cultural Park to the water’s edge. Independent public transportation serves the Opera House to conserve Yeli Dao as an ecological park.
