In the late 1950s, RMJM was commissioned to design the first ever Hong Kong Cross Harbour Tunnel. More than fifty years later, the company had maintained a presence in the area and recognised the city as a prime location for the firm’s newest studio. The studio has been based in Hong Kong ever since and are a dedicated multi-disciplinary group established to advise both the broader RMJM community and clients about sustainable issues and solutions. From the early research stages to the end of construction, the studio focuses on producing a building that offers a positive environmental legacy to its community. As an organisation, RMJM has over 30 years of experience in creating environmentally conscious designs.
RMJM RED were established in 2015 by Brenda Ye and Tean Chee Ko who together have over 40 years of international architectural experience to bring to the studio. RMJM RED have an extensive portfolio including the Zhuhai Shizimen Business Cluster Exhibition and Convention Centre, the Shenzhen Bay Innovation & Technology Centre, the Heart of Zhuhai City Phase 1 and the Ningbo Fashion Creative Centre. The team at RMJM RED are incredibly diverse, which drives creativity and collaboration in the design process at the studio. Collaboration is at the heart of RMJM RED’s process and it is reflected in the relationships the studio hold with clients, partners and contractors.
