Good Samaritan Hospital is an integral element in the Lebanon Valley region, serving over 120,000 local residents. After RMJM completed comprehensive strategic and facility master planning exercises, the client was inspired by the vision of the master plan and embarked on its largest project to date: a $45 million expansion and renovation of the existing campus.
The renovation of the existing facility along with the new 13,006 sqm brought the latest advancements in healthcare technology to the community.
The project included a new comprehensive cardiac care centre, a state-of-the-art surgical suite, an intensive care unit, and an emergency department that mean the facility can now serve some 60,000 patients a year. The renovations ultimately increased patient bed capacity by 15 percent, allowing Good Samaritan to accommodate more patients in greater comfort.
