RMJM were commissioned to produce proposals for Laurieston’s development. The masterplan for Laurieston was informed by the prominent Glasgow grid. RMJM set up a picturesque grid with buildings and features that terminate vistas. The masterplan also has the flexibility to accommodate future economic changes.
The grand public space is a key feature to the heart of the development and is used as a device to guide and orientate as well as stretch out or relax. There will be amenities such as shops, community buildings, community gardens, play spaces, a sports pitch, dog walk area and public art.
