RMJM were commissioned to design the Athletes’ Village for the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, UK. As the masterplanner and design champion for the City Legacy Consortium, RMJM created 700 homes and related accommodation for up to 8,000 athletes and officials, transforming a run down 38 hectare site in the East End of Glasgow into a much sought-after riverside residential area.
Besides the ample public space, common outdoor and indoor facilities are provided for the residents of the tower. Apartments all have large windows and independent balconies, natural light, and views over the city and the seafront.
The building marks its unique identity using hanging gardens and transparency. It will be a great destination to live in as well as visit.
