RMJM is delighted to announce that it has won a Cityscape Global Award for the Gate Avenue at DIFC development. The award was given out at the Cityscape gala dinner and gratefully received by the RMJM team who worked on the project. RMJM beat off stiff competition in the Future (Retail) category to land the prestigious award and cap what has been a stellar year for our team in Dubai.
Held annually, the Cityscape Global Awards celebrate excellence in real estate development and architecture. Covering a range of categories, the awards offer international architects and leading real estate developers a prestigious platform to communicate a shared vision for the future, from culturally integrated city skylines to sustainable urban communities.
Located at the heart of the DIFC, the Gate Avenue is a unique combination of an urban landscape on top of a pristine retail environment. The Gate Avenue runs along the central axis of the site, connecting and catering to the surrounding office, hotel and residential communities; by allowing for leisure, networking and relaxation. The project has been widely heralded since details were released of the unique development. The Gate Avenue at DIFC is expected to deliver significant added value to the DIFC community and the RMJM design team fully expect it to fulfill its objective of establishing the area as a premium lifestyle destination in Dubai.
RMJM Dubai Principal Neil van der Veen commented on the win: “We are extremely proud to win another Cityscape Award, especially for a retail project. Gate Avenue has been such an important project for us since we won it through an international design competition.
