Gate Avenue and Innovation Hub Gain Recognition
We are delighted to announce that two of RMJM Dubai’s projects have been shortlisted for the identity Design Awards. The first shortlisted project is DIFC Gate Avenue. It has been entered into the Architecture- Public Building category, which recognises buildings that serve the community or are used by the community. The second shortlisted project is the Innovation Hub which has been nominated in the Architecture- Commercial Building category. This category recognises buildings dedicated to work or services.
DIFC Gate Avenue was awarded a LEED Gold Certification earlier this year, becoming the first retail and leisure development in the Middle East region to achieve the certification. RMJM Dubai were assigned in early 2015 to work with the DIFC to develop the Gate Avenue into a unique cultural experience in the region and to enhance the resident and visitor experience through vibrant retail and sophisticated dining, all connected by an open-air promenade.
The Innovation Hub officially opened in October last year. The project aimed to provide a functional, graceful interior for business in a digital age. The public spaces incorporate the principles of co-working to create areas where workers can hold impromptu meetings, share ideas, and be productive outside the traditional workplace environment.
We are thrilled to have been considered for the awards alongside the other fantastic designs and are looking forward to the next stage of the competition.
