RMJM were commissioned to design a Holiday Inn Dubai Al-Maktoum Airport Hotel and the adjacent Staybridge Suites serviced apartment located at the southern boundary of the new Al Maktoum International Airport.
The client’s brief asked for the project to provide generous room sizes with as much natural light as possible, in both the hotel and the serviced apartments. Additionally, they sought a highly efficient design and requested RMJM to use locally sourced materials wherever possible, particularly on the facade. The designed rooms are spacious and flooded with the natural light, in both the hotel and the serviced apartments.
The 4 star Holiday Inn hotel provides 324 guestrooms and 20 suites, with amenities such as an outdoor swimming pool, gym, spa, salon, meeting rooms, ballroom, all day restaurant, one specialty restaurant and a bar/ nightclub.
The Staybridge Suites, with a total of 260 keys, comprises a mix of studios, 1-bed and 2-bed apartments with interconnecting doors providing the flexibility of 3-bed apartments. The suites have an infinity-edge swimming pool, a BBQ backyard, gym and large common spaces on the ground floor for gatherings.
The Almulla Group owns a number of major hotels in Dubai and this latest project will be a significant addition to their property portfolio in a strategic location located close to the future EXPO 2020 site.
RMJM site supervision team’s objective was to provide a safe and healthy place of work for all staff members, as well as to meet all our duties and obligations to our clients. As a result, a major achievement was made by our site supervision team, when they reached 8 Million safe man hours.
