RMJM’s headquarters building for investment company Alliance Trust in Dundee is designed to reflect the company’s corporate values and convey a clear and visual statement of its commitment to its employees, its shareholders and the city. The 5,000 m² development consolidated the company’s three offices in Dundee to create a more focused and efficient operation. The six storey, graphite coloured, zinc clad building incorporates flexible and adaptable open interiors. These include informal break-out spaces, a coffee hub in the central atrium and a versatile series of enclosed, semi-private meeting and gathering spaces.
RMJM worked with the client team to create a public art feature for the front of the building to engage with the local community and further reinforce the links between Alliance Trust and Dundee. The artwork consists of an electronic ticker-tape running above the main entrance displaying the latest share prices, emphasising the core purpose of the business as an investment company.
