RMJM won a design competition in 2011 to develop a unique project in Levent, Turkey. The purpose of the project is to develop a much needed hotel in the region, providing a 4 star hotel with a unique design. The development, commissioned by client Halkbank, required the design differentiate itself from other buildings in the area, while combining comfort, energy efficiency and sustainability. The client brief specified that the design should take into consideration the functionality, aesthetics and the hotel chain’s standards, as well as the applicable Turkish standards and construction regulations.
The design concept for the hotel epitomises all that is good and exciting about modern Istanbul and its vibrant culture and embraces its rapidly growing economic success. As such it has been designed with simple and modern lines that create a timeless building with elegant proportions and clear visual organisation that will attract the modern traveller to this up market 4 star Urban Hotel.
